Sweet Alkaline is an emerging rock trio hailing from Philadelphia.. Started by three members of the now-defunct hard rock band Powervibe(Billboard World Song Contest winner in 2006), Sweet Alkaline takes a decided turn towards pop while never completely abandoning the almighty “riff”. The group is comprised of drummer Tim Reeder (also formerly of Transistor Rodeo and SuperStatic), guitarist David Lenat (also formerly of Head and Mike Dutton), and lead vocalist/bassist Beau Bodine (also formerly of ISLE OF Q [ Universal Records]). As the principle songwriter and a fan of 1960's and 70's era music, Bodine demonstrates his influences by melding the melodic prowess of The Beatles and ELO with the guitar-hero rock of Cream and Led Zeppelin. Live, the band plays straight-up, song-driven” tune rock” with no gimmicks, no phony image and no apologies for the occasional ballad. Chocked full of big hooks, tight harmonies and undeniable musicianship, Sweet Alkaline simply delivers good playin’ and good singin’!
