SBA MANIFESTO,
"Melodic rock confronting human complacency and the ever growing lack of ambition amongst us and a lack of hope for youth growing up in towns with little opportunity, it's time for change..."
Sweet Black Angels: Born out of frustration at the so called "English music scene" and the music industry in general, geared more towards manufactured boy/girl groups with low overheads and fast cash returns. With less chance of recognitions for true musicians and songwriters, the band felt compelled to try and re-establish what this country used to be famed for.
We are five friends who came together to make music that we believe in, that we could share with others and maybe open their eyes to a different way of living or question the things we are led to believe. We sing about social issues such as jealousy, judgement, boredom and how in the big scheme of things, money, work and materialistic things just aren't that important.
Without sacrificing good melody for coolness, we want to reach as many people as possible and help them realise that you don't have to get caught up in the system and that you can achieve what you believe in.
We want to bring it to the attention of the world that nothing is written in stone, that no-one should govern the path you follow, that life should be full of venture and looked back upon with fulfilment and not regret...
Cheers for your support guys, much respect for your work! We've put our first demo up on MySpace. Please visit and leave a comment, many thanks, PR Kiss the Rod

Day 8 - Up nice and early this morning, 7.45 am infact! Packed up and caught the bus to the airport (video and pics to be added soon). Checked in and relaxed with coffee and a baguette. The best bit was when we got recognised in the airport by some people who had seen us play at Waynes!! Get in!! Hello to all from Yeovil!! Nice to come back to a dodgy landing due to the good old English weather! Well we're all back home now, but we would like to say a big thanks to all of the staff for another great week and all the people we met from all over the world and to those who got copies of the cd, we hope you like it!! We hope you've enjoyed the diary, same again next year!!!! SBA
Day 7 - In the pub to watch soccer AM and had our usual breakfast/dinner. We then went to visit Nick from Merla's Cave Studio and listened to ours and their new album. The studio has got a great sound and is done out really smart. Chappers tried out the drum kits while Scott and Nick discussed production and general music promotion ideas. We then headed to Matt's for a Fifa 2008 tournament and said hello to Billy, he's still up to his old tricks! Matt won with some scum team from up north! We then had dinner at Waynes and watched some more family guy back at the flat. Chappers watched the Isreal game and let us know the good news when he came back, we might be at Euro 2008 yet!! We then did, what was easily the best gig of the week, with a great crowd and just the right amount of drink to get into it. Luke supplied us with our usual send off shots and we were well on our way dancing to Angus's disco! We then said our byes and went to bed to watch the fugitive in Spanish!
Day 6 - Morning!! Got up rather late today, just in time for lunch!! We then booked ourselves in to a mental clinic, woops i mean restaurant! For Chappers birthday meal. We then went on a magical mystery tour and found a lovely little short cut. It led us to where we wanted to go. The Chateau. Pictures to be added soon, it was nice. We sprused up as bit and went for meal at place we booked in France over there on the right by that other place. It was a 3 course meal with plenty of wine and Chappers special birthday cock tail!! Once again the food was superb and our playingf that evening ws also superb! Kontiki were nin the building 53 to be precise and we enjoyed it like they did. We then went to a new club and raved away the evining/ morning!!! We went for it for a whole half hour before calling it a night/day. We returned to our luxurious appartement and watched Ricky Gervais. Scott and Lee wore ear plugs to bed for the first time and slept like logs from a really comfortable log cabin. Night!!!!! Sorry for spelling and weirdness....tired/drunk.....must sleep.....neeed water........eh!!!!!!!!!!x
Day 5 - Woke up feeling a bit rough this morning, the fried breakfast didnt seem to help anyone. Scott went on a day trip to Italy, he took in the fantastic scenery before deciding to throw up the breakfast on a mountain side covered in snow! The strawberry milkshake showed up a treat! Smoo, Lee and Chappers crashed and watched some more family guy, it's addictive! Scott came back in time to meet the others for tea before we all prepared for ladies night. The gig went really well and it was packed but also very warm! Meeka was in the building tonight which caused a bit of a stir! A good night was had by all. We then went back to the flat around 2am as we wanted to save ourselves for Chappers birthday tomorrow! We are going for a meal at our favourite restaurant and some wine to kick start the evening!! Speak to you tomorrow!!
Day 4 - Had breakfast and crashed for a bit. Then went to the beach and even managed to do some sunbathing! Got a bag of DVD's and watched family guy all afternoon whilst chilling. We listened to Chappers new cd of Johnny Cash live in a prison! We did the gig and went to Blue Whales until 4am, very tired and went to bed and watched more family guy!
Day 3 - This morning we watched Beverly Hills Cop then had lunch. We then went for a walk around the shops in area undiscovered by us before, it was very nice. We had a quick shop in the monoprix and watched the tram. We had a pint of Guiness and watched Judge Dread and got clean. We then rocked out properly tonight and had them all dancing on the tables. Scott and Smoo went to a club for whiskey with the entertainments manager and got home early, around 5am!!! Cant remember anymore, night!!!!
Day 2- Good morning! We sat at the bar all day yesterday and had some drinks including tequila. Ventured across to Ma Nolans for the quiz only to be told that there was no quiz. We were not happy with that, we just wanted a rock and roll night doing a nice pub quiz! So we then made our way to Mcmahons and played pool where Smoo and Scott cleaned up and won some money at killer. After taking everyones money we went back to Waynes to entertain. Put it this way it was a performance no one will forget! Afterwards we headed back to the flat with a panini and watched the fugitive. See you all again tomorrow :)
Day 1 of France Tour - Got up at 3am sunday to catch a half six flight. A few early airport drinks and we were off to Nice! We dumped our gear in the flat and eneded up having an all day drinking session! We then retired to the flat and watched the Johnny Cash film and fell asleep. This morning we have enjoyed an English breakfast and a couple of pints of Guiness! We then soundchecked and have started drinking again, should be an interesting night!! We shall let you know soon how it all went!! Cheers! SBA
