Sweet Carousel specializes in bold, flirty outfits and embellished waist-training corsets. Every season we venture into differant genres of modern-day alternative fashions and elaborate them into styles that are significant to us.
Sweet Carousel has been a work in progress since 2006 when Elise first completed the fashion design and apparel production program at Marvel College in Edmonton, AB. It officially launched in Spring of 2008 to the public as a custom corsetiere and seasonal clothing designer. In 2009 Sweet Carousel will expand as an online boutique and a local custom designer.
22 year old Elise Truong has always been surrounded by clothing design. She practically lived in her mothers tailoring shop as a toddler and grew up digesting design techniques and daydreamed about clothing she would create. Throughout her education Elise has always been known as someone fascinated by high alternative fashions and wasn't ever a great student since she would draw clothing designs rather than focus on her work.
Elise's personal styles have inspirations from fairytales, japanese alternative, cartoons and 80s culture; styles which you can see throughout her collections. The main passion has always been corsetry. A type of garment that accentuates the figure and is basically an art canvas you can do anything to. The corset patterns she makes have inspirations from the victorian and edwardian era and the current world of fetishism. Mix that in with her signature style and you get a true Sweet Carousel one-of-a-kind garment.
