Dorit is a Singer/songwriter multi-instrumentalist AND "Belly Dancer of the Universe!"
In love with superheroes, she doesn't mind having a dual artistic identity.
In fact on a recent tour in Italy Dorit acquired the name 'Animale Da Palcoscenico' meaning 'animal of the stage.' And that pretty much sums up her energy.
Her MUSIC is a melting pot of NYC Rock with many songs heavily influenced by the rhythms and melodies of the Middle East and North Africa. It is meant to be seen LIVE whether its an organic acoustic night or full out electric one. Song and dance!!!
Dorit has had one of the most successful and highly visible dance careers and is known as the Jimi Hendrix of Ethnic dance. She is a trend setter in the art form.
She has performed in front of thousands on stage and on TV, and has inspired many people to take up the dance itself or just appreciate life in a different way. Her performances have been called 'magical' 'hypnotic' 'sexy' spiritual' and the list goes on. Among her thousands of shows she has performed for international celebrities, royalty, and has shared the stage with many known and underground incredible artists.
Whether you know her as a dancer or a musician it is clear that she is 100% artist. Day in day out. No made up names, persona, or fashions.
Everything is created authentically from the heart in order to inspire audiences and live a fully expressed life.
Thanks for your interest.
Please keep checking back for more performance dates, songs, and exciting news.

PRESS AND REVIEWS:
"Dorit - Leading off her set with a super sexy belly dance complete with hand chimes and beautiful wardrobe, I wasn't sure how the rest of Dorit's set would go....Ah, but it wasn't long before she dove headlong into a strong set of original music. Her three piece band includes percussion and an ude player who doubles as her lead guitar player. She proved there was more than just mouth waterting body shaking. Her sounds blended the mysterious middle eastern sound structures with textured guitar pieces that definitely crossed over into American pop music. Her set was capped off with a masterful cover of Blind Faith's "Can't find my way home." My first Dorit experience. I hope to have more. Keep an eye out for her. "

"As you know we here at CB's (CBGB's) have seen tons of performers day in and day out. It's very rare we actually enjoy someone. Everyone at the bar and the staff thought you were great!

"My Artist Award goes to Dorit who convinced me to hear her play at Sin-e, instead of getting sleep on Saturday night. It was worth it. Check out her blend of Middle-Eastern poly-rhythms and pop rock.

Dorit is a great songwriter, and the hit quality of her material is brought out tonight with the addition of a rhythm section (bass and percussion). She starts off with the two songs she prefers to present at the open mikes. To these ears the music comes across like a blend of 80s songwriters: Tracy Chapman, Sting and Eddie Brikell, for starters. Dorit has played the showcase before, but it's been a while. It's good to have her back and funkin' the place up. And the belly dancing? Did I mention the belly dancing?! The woman has some hot, hot, hot moves. Why don't more musicians belly dance like that? Well…never mind.

Dorit's cool song had numerous sections connected by smooth transitions.
I dug it.

Dorit played a great set of upbeat, funky pop songs. Her performance was filled with light and colored by soul. Largely responsible were Dorit’s clear, buoyant voice and welcoming stage presence. Dorit was joined by a percussionist playing the cajon, a very cool wooden box shaped instrument that’s half djembe, half stool (players sits as they drum). Together they created a rhythmical groove that formed a solid framework for Dorit's wide-range vocals to effortlessly carry her well-written melodies to every corner of the crowded room.

In addition to her own projects Dorit sings with New York Gypsy Band "Romashka" which recently opened for the Gipsy Kings at the Roxy.
She has also appeared in numerous television shows and films as a dancer, actress, and singer.
