I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for HE HAS clothed me with the garments of salvation, HE HAS covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
(Isa 61:10 KJVR)
I am originally from California and have lived in Oklahoma for 13 years. I have 3 beautiful children and 3 grandchildren (with 1 grandchild on the way) who are my life. I am a Christian lady and love the Lord with all my heart. I am NOT on this site for a dating service but only to meet friends.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perserverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success!
Who I'd like to meet:
Guidance
When I meditated on the word guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is
a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead,
nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow
with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable
and jerky. When one person realizes and lets the
other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person and
gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word guidance.
When I saw "G", I thought of God, followed by "u"
and "i". God, "u" and "i" dance". God, you, and I dance.
This statement is what guidance means to me.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
Thank you Dr. Tim for these words!
NUTS:
Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Gal 5:19-21)
FRUIT:
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
(Gal 5:22-23)
"I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me.
(Joh 15:5)
My Father's glory is shown by your bearing much fruit; and in this way you become my disciples.
(Joh 15:8)
Your Freedom & Liberty........ "Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." "Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." "James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."
Philosophy, tradition, or being worldly & politically correct will not gain anyone the freedom and liberty that our Lord Jesus Christ made available to us. But when we we love our neighbor as our self, then we gain great freedom, as we in our own way serve each other as God has enabled us.
"Psalms 118:4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. 6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Proverbs 11:8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"
To stand strong in this spiritual battle is ours to do. It is God's power that provides the victory through them who stand.
So by whatever appeal to you there is in our mutual dwelling in Christ, by whatever strengthening and consoling and encouraging our relationship in Him affords, by whatever persuasive incentive there is in love, by whatever participation in the Holy Spirit we share, and by whatever depth of affection and compassionate sympathy, Fill up and complete my joy by living in harmony and being of the same mind and one in purpose, having the same love, being in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention. Do nothing from factional motives through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends, or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility & lowliness of mind let each regard the others as better than, and superior to himself, thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not merely his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Let this same attitude and purpose and humble mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: Let Him be your example in humility: Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God, did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself of all privileges and rightful dignity, so as to assume the guise of a servant or slave, in that He became like men and was born a human being. Philippians 2:1-7
Hey thanx for everything you did! Your a really great person and I wanted you to know that because of that day I've read the entire new testement of the bible and been trying to love my life closer to god. If it wasn't for you and your family I would of been toast and probably never thought to pursue a life closer to god.
Thank you
"John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." "Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
Doing the works that Jesus did is a promise to us, doing even greater works than Jesus is a promise also. Believing is the key to receiving God's promises manifested in our lives. Asking for anything in the name of Jesus Christ is guaranteed to produced results. Expect to see Miracles.
"James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."
Be joyful when you are under attack and realize that attacks form the adversary teaches us patience and patience increases our faith in God. As our faith (believing) increases we begin to become perfect and entire. We want nothing because God supplies our everything. The only thing that stands between asking and receiving is doubt. We can not waver between doubt and believing. If we allow our minds to fall into this trap we will not receive the things we ask God for.
Sometimes when we leave the hustle and bustle and bustle of our daily lives and go visit some place in nature we are reminded of what we left behind to get there.
The rock formation called Fifth Avenue is a prime example. I hope that you can leave the hustle and bustle for a little while. I hope that you enjoy your weekend.
