THEIR STORY: On January 2009 a new album was born in Switzerland, which brought to fruition through collaboration between Einat Betzalel & Hakim Boukhit.
Einat and Hakim were born on the same day, the 10th of December.
They grew up in two different parts of the world.
Hakim was born to a Muslim family in the Quarter in France.
Einat was born to a Jewish family on a kibbutz - a social community in Israel.
From the first minute they met - the magic was there.
All that followed was in such harmony with the universe that it's hard to believe the chain of coincidences…
They fell in love with each other's sound.
Einat: "When I first heard Hakim I was fascinated. I knew that I wanted to play on stage with this musician."
Hakim: "When Einat sang, I heard the way she used time and space. It was completely my world. When I decided to come to Israel I didn’t plan anything, which was very unusual for me. Something stronger than me pushed me to come"
After two concerts together in December 2007, Einat couldn’t continue to perform along with her band. Hakim's color was missing. She waited 6 months to work with him again.
In June 2008 she went to Switzerland for one month and they wrote 12 new songs together.
Einat: "The creative process was so unique and flowing. Every morning we went to the green forest to be filled with inspiration and creation. We didn't have to speak at all about the music. Just about life..."
In October 2008 Einat went back to Switzerland to record and to turn the dream into reality.
"Sweeterland" is an album that shares love, optimism, spirituality and positivity.
The music has an Acoustic Urban Soul vibe, the blended essence of their sounds.
Hakim and Einat want to share this magic with you.
They hope to be a small light in a world that is now so hard to coexist in.
