About me: Sweet F.A. takes place over a 24 hour period in the fictional town of Beaudesert in the fictional state of Queensland in the fictional country of New Drunkington. Matty (Matthew Okine) is a city lawyer with the same kick-ass attitude as Rumpole Of The Bailey. He heads back to his home town of Beaudesert to see his parents before he moves interstate. Along the way, he has an altercation with a local policeman Sgt. Dinto (Gary Mitchell), who confiscates his vehicle, possibly to use in a demolition derby or car advertisement. Suddenly stripped of his vehicle and feeling like a fish out of water (for AFC purposes), Matty calls his high school mate Dryno (Luke Ellis). Dryno reciprocates and picks him up. But here is the shocking “Sixth Sense” style twist. Instead of taking Matty home to his parents, Dryno takes him to the football to meet up with his mates and drink beer. His mates include but are not limited to Crazy Karl (Karl Paustian), who is not all that crazy, Roxby (Kevin Spink), a smooth Englishman, Tangles (Christian McCarty), a meathead and Mick (Michael Skelton), a married man under the thumb and index finger. Over the course of the night, the boys will encounter angry footballers, a Swedish fish shop owner and his daughter, the blueprint for all geeks, angry ex-girlfriends, women of their dreams and a drunk dog. Plus a cameo by Burt Reynolds and musical performance by Hootie and the Blowfish.*
*May not be true.
The story of the making of Sweet F.A. is a long, complicated and often boring one. And here it is. In late 1991, producers Mick Skelton, Christian McCarty and Karl Paustian got together in the hope of making a big screen version of the classic TV show “Alf”, with the desire for McCarty to star as Alf, Paustian as the cat and Skelton in a dual role as Kevin Pollack and the planet Mermac.
The owners of the rights to “Alf” did not play ball. They wanted two Golden Roughs and a Hustler magazine, while the boys thought the rights were only worth a Chomp Bar and a Picture centerfold.
Cutting their losses, they unsuccessfully bid for the rights to “Full House” with the hope of playing the Olsen twins as fat, alcoholic males in their mid-20’s. The producers declined their offer.
The boys however, gained the rights to the series “The Golden Girls”. Their original script had the boys playing the roles of fat, alcoholic males in a retirement village. In the end interest waned because the boys were too drunk.
Paustian went on to write and direct a little known TV series called “Hey Dad”, McCarty climbed Everest (a stripper with assets, not the mountain) and Skelton made a fortune designing parachute pants for M.C. Hammer until Hammer went broke.
Fast forward to 2005, when Skelton adapted the “Golden Girls” script to suit six alcoholic males. This was done so the boys didn’t have to learn as many lines.
Awesomely Awesome Productions is live! We are happy to announce our first feature project “Sweet F.A” will was shot between January and June 2006. “Sweet F.A.” is an all male adaptation of the popular 2005 film, “The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants” replacing the pants with beers and the chicks with hotter chicks. We also promise at least one car chase with one car and no chase. Believe me, it is in your best interest to check out this movie or you may be struck down with Parkinson’s disease. (We told Michael J. Fox. Did he listen?) Check out www.awesomely-awesome.com for even more crap jokes such as the ones above.

I'm hearing many different things? Is this screening at the Metro or is it at beaudessert? Cos if it is at Metro then I really want to come. Let me know kids! PS HOWS IT GOING?
Matt has been talking about you guys since forever, so thanks for the add. looking forward to seeing your movie! I think Matty might have already told me the good bits though.
well... the premise of the whole thing was not interesting enough for 90 minutes, it was hard to even care about the characters and there was a total absence of story. The novelty of it being set in Brisbane wore off after the first shot of the botanical gardens, the main characters dillema rang a big so what for me couldn't she have had someone die in her life or a major scandal at her work then there would have been some drama or conflict but instead we had to watch this 20 something whine like a 13 year old throughout.
