Sweet Lady formed in late February 2006, as a four-piece classic rock band.
The band consists of lead vocalist and pianist Stef D'Cruz; guitarist and vocalist Matt Lonsdale; drummer and vocalist Dan Lonsdale; and bass guitarist Joe Hunt. Each band member adds a unique quality to the style in which Sweet Lady perform.
Stef is a talented pianist and vocalist, and has written a number of Sweet Lady's songs, which shows off his talents in song writing as well as performing. Stef is heavily influenced by Queen's Freddie Mercury, whose pheonominal stage presence and amazing quality as a musician has been key in helping Stef to become a very established writer and performer.
Matt is a fantastic guitarist, and his biggest inspirations are Brian May of Queen; Adrian Smith, David Murray and Janick Gers of Iron Maiden; and Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, whose incredible playing quality and guitar creativity have inspired Matt greatly. Matt is also a good song writer, and can express his talents in that field as well.
Dan is a great rock drummer who is inspired by Roger Taylor of Queen; John Bonham of Led Zeppelin; and Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden, whose fantastic variation and stadium rock drumming has been a huge influence on Dan's style, not to mention Roger's vocal ability. Dan is also writing songs for the band, to show that his talents do not just lie in percussion.
Joe has been playing bass for 3 years and is the latest member of Sweet Lady. He is influenced by many different styles and people, but his main influences lie in bassists such as Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, John Deacon of Queen and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. Joe also plays cello and Double Bass.
Their unique sound of 70s rock inspired by bands such as Queen, Led Zeppelin and Free, have been brought together by their own style, making them a must see live band. They have set out to put rock back where it belongs; on the map...
