Influences
Led Zeppelin, White Stripes, The Faces, Hendrix, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, early Liz Phair, Kinks, T.Rex, Bowie, BRMC, Dandy Warhols, Black Keys, Grant Lee Phillips, Ten Years After, Jeff Buckley, Supergrass, Neil Young, Lenny Kravitz, Louis XIV, Jon Spencer.
Through his music, Chris Perricelli (lead vocals and guitar) strives to inspire his listeners to look within and seek a better self. Originally from Chicago, Chris toured the nation with Ike Reilly to discover a new home in the Twin Cities. *
His latest offering "Soulful Automatic" was produced and recorded by Ed Tinley (Liz Phair), Jacques Wait (Semisonic), Mike Wisti (Faux Jean) and Chris Dorn (The Beatifics). It's original pop rock with a retro edge and accessible melodies.
A great electric and captivating live act, Chris Perricelli the singer/songwriter/guitarist is in fact an amazing performer. The songwriter who stands at 5 feet 2 inches, demonstrates fantastically large guitar playing similar to todays J. Mascis or Jack White. His image is completely marketable. Chriss songwriting style is soulful while featuring mostly Zen and guidance inspired lyrics. *
The band's live show, an engaging pomp and swaggering experience, is not to be missed! *
"The songs are so aurally pleasing that they feel familiar, even while the band's sound is unique and not easily compared to other acts. Perricellis talent on guitar is incredible, and his voice has a sensitivity lacking in contemporary rock music. At times I was reminded of George Harrison's vocals in "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," the way his vocals float and dance with the contrasting power chords and heavy drum beats, creating symphonic delight." - How Was The Show.com
"...he's got some serious guitar chops, and man, guitar heroism is a lost art. Perricelli and his band pull it off admirably." - S. McPherson, The Pulse*
"The best singer-guitarist to call St. Paul home since Bob Mould"
- P. Scholtes, City Pages.*
Nominated for Rock Group and Guitarist of the Year 2006 by the Minnesota Music Academy.*
Named best Best Rock Band of 2007 by the Twin Cities City Pages.
Little Man was an official performing artist at SXSW 2007!*

Soulful Automatic is a
Pioneer Press 2007 Top Ten Album of the Year.

" Like Jeff Tweedy, Perricelli perches on that place where Paul Westerberg meets classic rock 'n' glam, while his vocals seek a vein between T. Rex and Dave Davies..."

Thanks Chris! I've got a friend helping me out. Neza? I'm guessing you know her? I know she posted a bunch of pictures of you from the Rice Park (is that where I mean to say?) gig you did a couple week back. Anyway, she's been trying to kick my ass into gear and keep a page running.
Hey, babe! How about having you over for dinner one of these nights and listening to you talk all about your artistic career / bring your boys. My hubby and I will treat you like the rock stars that you are. I ship out to Boston to film my next doc over the fouth of July, but after that I am game. come over for Huevos rancheros, tortillas, rice and beans. Take care of yourself. Ciao: Gabriela
