HISTORY OF SWEETPORT:
In the 90s you were scared to go to Bridgeport. No one would park their car in Bridgeport. Bridgeport was a stop on the highway between Stamford and New Haven.
That has changed. Bridgeport is home to beaches, a minor league ball park, a 228 seat theater, a 1400 seat theater, a 10,000 seat arena and a historic downtown. Having built a reputation in the 80s for top-ten-in-the-nation crime, government corruption, and environmental disaster, Bridgeport is making a comeback.
Seriously, right now, Bridgeport is just lovely.
Sweetport produces music, art and fashion events, showcasing diverse talent in the heart of downtown Bridgeport.
