Sweetwater Abilene is the sound of ugly things trying to be pretty. Formed back in 2001 while lead singer J.R. Top was reading a book about folk music, Sweetwater Abilene strives to make it's own music while being for the people. SWA has been through many changes over it's seven year history, starting out with folk, and then adding a lot of garage rock to it. Sweetwater Abilene has played with a diverse range of other bands such as - Hello Stranger, The Cinematics, The Meat Purveyors, American Music Club , Jack Oblivion and the Tennessee Tear Jerkers, and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - and makes it work. So if you feel like dancing and crying at the same time, check it out and give it a whirl.
I will be playing with "the Clip-Ons" this saturday night at the Front Porch. It's in downtown Springfield next to Ernie Biggs. The weather will be GOOD, the music will be GREAT and the show will be FREE! What more could you ask for on a saturday night?! The show will end around 10ish..after that..we're all going dancing!
