Bio
Swift Science is a band formed in the Appalachian mountains of Boone, North Carolina. Their styles range from blues to rock, but they have no intentions of keeping their music bounded by genres. The band was started by Guitarist/Lead Vocalist JD Rust who grew up writing music in Charlotte North Carolina. After parting ways with Boone favorites Do it to Julia in July of 2009, Rust began writing songs for a brand new project of his own influenced by The Black Keys, The White Stripes, and Bob Log III. Also coming from Charlotte is the drummer Ben Mercer. Mercer, influenced by The Police, Rush, and The Black Keys, has had a musically well-rounded career out of the Queen City playing in bands such as Retrospect and CSE. Everett Melvin is a long time bass player from Atlanta Georgia who has played with several bands in and outside of the peach state, having influences such as Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, and Flea. For information on booking, contact JD Rust by phone: 704-806-5295, or by email: swiftscienceband@gmail.com -
