Film, of course. Also weight lifting, bike riding, some roller blading (although I often stop with my face) reading, and writing. On the writing front, a short story I wrote, "Souvenir," that was runner-up in the Mary Shelley awards for new stories of Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction in 2005. Another story I wrote, "Converts," is a runner up this year, I can't believe it! I'm also working on some novels that I hope I won't have to self-publish.
Music
Warren Zevon was my favorite singer. In the huge vacuum created by his untimely death, I have begun to enjoy Rachel Sage and Ringside. A little further down the list is Gwen Stefani, Bruce Springsteen, the music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer.
Movies
Jaws, Citizen Kane, Ikiru, Manny & Lo, Soylent Green (It's people!) Matewan, James Bond films, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Syriana, An Inconvenient Truth, original Night of the Living Dead (and Romero directed sequels) Ghostbusters (first one only!) Too many more to name in such a small space.
Television
Lost, The 4400, 24, The X-Files, Star Trek (well, most of them, anyway) Law and Order, Battlestar Galactica (the NEW one!)
Books
Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Stand, The Great Gatsby, Collapse, by Jared Diamond, The Assault on Reason, by Al Gore, The End of Iraq by Peter W. Galbraith, Soon I Will be Invincible by Austin Grossman
Heroes
John Sayles, Stephen Spielberg, George Romero, Roger Corman, John F. Kennedy, Sir Edmund Hillary, Bruce Lee, Al Gore, Stephen King, Stan Lee (and that reminds me--Spider-Man!)
