I have been playing from somewhere between 15-20 years. During that time I have always worked at other things, either full time career, or self employment. I was fortunate to play at the London Jazz Festival, and I had a residency at the Dorchester, Pake Lane, but otherwise have done gigs here and there, mostly in guitar duos. I have no musical qualifications and apart from some private lessons am pretty much self taught. I now live in LA and mostly record as finding gigs and compatible musicians is difficult.
One of my CDs, Swing Strings is widely available online from Amazon, CD Baby or iTunes, Napster etc. I have a new CD coming out in summer of 2008, which will be in the same style, ie swing, acoustic guitar and will feature fine LA musicians again.
I am always working educational ebooks, which can be purchased from my website http://www.myjazzguitar.com The most popular is Solo Jazz Guitar, which is a collection of jazz standards, some of which you don't always see arranged for guitar. I am currently working on a book of transcribed solos, which includes the best players and also some European guitarists, such as Bireli Lagrene. What this space for updates or drop me a line.
