Influences
The Andrews Sisters, Boswell Sisters, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Blossom Dearie, Pink Martini, Tony Bennet, Peggy Lee, Anita O'Day, Rosemary Clooney, Eartha Kitt, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr. The Mint Juleps, Take six, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Asylum Street Spankers, David Bowie and of course Wonder Woman (anyone who can fly an invisible plane is alright in my books).
The year was 2002. The month was January and three girls fought their way through the blistering Canadian winter to meet up in a Toronto basement. The reason for this heroic journey you may ask- To sing and swing in three part harmony.
Since then Shannon Butcher, Chantelle Wilson and Kira Callahan have performed all over Toronto. Their first gigs found them at every possible theatre fundraiser, sharing the stage with a latex clad sword swallower and opening for a singing dog named "Phish". They've since performed at leading Toronto jazz clubs, festivals and historic venues throughout Ontario.... but secretly they'll always miss Phish. Man, that dog could sing!

Ladies,
It was a great honour to perform with you last week in Stirling. I hope that we can work together again. If William ever gets lots on the way to a gig - give me a call.
