Sam Ash released EDDIE DURHAM tribute guitars in 2006. Durham was the first to record on an Amplified Guitar, on "Hittin the Bottle" with Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra.
Composer, Arranger EDDIE DURHAM by now left BASIE for LUNCEFORD's Orchestra, gets featured on guitar, trombone and records Hittin The Bottle. He loses some of his catalogue rights to BASIE (1'oClock Jump, Jumpin Woodside, Motens Swing). He keeps Swingin the Blues, Topsy, Sent 4U Yest, Every Tub, etc.
Benny Goodman Orchestra. Eddie Durham, composer, arranger, hired by Goodman as Musical Director. Don't believe it, just listen to Durham's arrangement, same song, for Count Basie in 1938.
