About me: Marie is a talented Swedish R&B singer and songwriter. Born in Liberia, and raised in Sweden, Marie studied music at Harnosand Music School. In June 1999, she graduated, and that summer, togehter with her friend Tamela competed in the Swedish Star Search singing Brandy and Monica's duet The Boy Is Mine. In November 2001, Marie competed in the Swedish Pop Star singing Desiree's "Feel So High". In January 2002, Marie met Simon Tocclo, a producer in Umea, Sweden, and together, they co-wrote and produced her self titled debut album Marie, financed by Underground Songs, headed by Peo Stromberg and Warner Chappel, headed by Hans Desmond. In March 2003, Marie's song "Wish I Could" was released by Stockholm Records on their album The Usual Suspects Part II. In October 2003, Marie was invited, an honor reserved for Swedish music elites such as Roxette, Ace of Base to participate in the Swedish Music Seminar in New York, sponsored by the Swedish General Consulate. There, Marie shared the stage with Anna Sahlene and Face Quake. In August 2005, Marie enrolled in the prestigious Stockholm?s Music Conservatory, fine tuning her vocal and songwriting skills in the year long music program. In April 2006, Marie moved to the United States. Settling in Washington DC, Marie joined the band Soular Evolution,formerly YaMama'Nym. Today, Marie is touring with the band, and working with band members to produce the band's third album, under the watchful eyes of executive producer and band manager Tre Barr
