Deuce – „Cut The Wire“ Three years after the release of the CD 'Illusion' the new album entitled 'Cut The Wire' is available. You can feel the passion both the musicians have put into every note from the first to the last song to create brilliant and strong melodies with a pleasant ambience and intensity. 'Cut The Wire' may be described as a conceptual album. If you read the titles in order, they tell a story which conjures up images in one's mind that could be out of an epic adventure-romance movie. Listening to the music brings those pictures to life providing the perfect soundtrack to your own film. Lefty Bertschinger records and mixes every sound himself and brings to life rocking and colorful sound experiences from his fount of riffs and licks. The new singer Rage Gut makes sure that her versatile poppy voice completes the flavor, fusing melody and character and evoking emotions in the listener. Rage is a godsend for Deuce. With her fresh unique voice and lyrics, she brings new glamour to Lefty's nostalgic, romantic guitar. At times these melodies seem reminiscent of 80s bands like the Alan Parsons Project and Pink Floyd, but are clearly unique, modern and fresh. Rage Gut, a former student of blues singer Christina Jaccard and musical specialist Marc B. Lay, began her stage career in 1992 as part of the cover band 'MC Square' in which she continuously enhanced her talents and started to write her own lyrics and melodies. Along with numerous shows on stages large and small throughout Switzerland (e.g. pubs and open air concerts), she achieved her greatest success so far at the Ski World Cup 2003 in St. Moritz. We'll see what this perfectly attuned duo will accomplish next. We can't wait to hear it. ....

Drei Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung der CD „Illusion“ liegt nun das neue Album von Deuce mit dem Titel „Cut The Wire“ vor. Vom ersten bis zum letzten Stück fühlt man, mit wie viel Herzblut die beiden Musiker an jedem einzelnen Ton feilten, um die brillanten und starken Melodien so stimmungsvoll und intensiv herüberzubringen.

„Cut The Wire“ darf in seiner Kohärenz durchaus als Konzeptalbum bezeichnet werden. Liest man allein die Titel ihrer Reihenfolge nach, erzählen sie Geschichten die Bilder im Kopf entstehen lassen, die aus einem epischen Abenteuer- Liebesfilm stammen könnten. Hört man sich die Musik dazu an, werden die Bilder noch einmal lebendiger und man hat den perfekten Soundtrack zum eigenen Film.

Während Lefty Bertschinger die ganzen Sounds selber einspielt und mischt und aus einem riesigen Fundus eigener Klangtüfteleien, verschnörkelter Riffs und Melodien rockige Klangwolken ins Leben ruft, sorgt die neue Sängerin Rage Gut dafür, dass sie mit ihrer vielseitigen popigen Stimme die passenden Farben so ergänzt, dass Melodie und Gesang verschmelzen und beim Zuhörer Emotionen wecken.

Rage ist ein Glücksfall für Deuce. Mit ihrer frischen einzigartigen Stimme und ihren Lyrics bringt sie neuen Glanz in Leftys nostalgische, romantische Gitarrengebilde die diese 15 feinen Songs verzieren. Die an die 80-er Jahre angelehnten Melodien erinnern hin und wieder an Bands wie Alan Parsons Project und Pink Floyd, sind aber dennoch eigenständig, modern und frisch.

Rage Gut, eine ehemalige Schülerin der Bluessängerin Christina Jaccard und dem auf Musicals spezialisierten Marc B. Lay, begann ihre Bühnenkarriere 1992 in der Coverband „MC Square“ wobei sie sich laufend weiterentwickelte und eigene Texte und Gesangsmelodien zu schreiben begann. Nebst zahlreichen Engagements auf kleinen und grossen Bühnen der Schweiz wie Pubs und Open-Airs konnte sie ihren bisher grössten Erfolg an der Ski-WM 2003 in St. Moritz verbuchen.

Man darf gespannt sein, was dieses bestens aufeinander eingespielte Gespann noch zusammen fertig bringt. Irgendwie ist man bereits neugierig, ja, hungrig darauf, was die Beiden als Nächstes bringen werden.
