Introducing Switchblade UK and their unique blend of melody and thumping rhythm. Its rock, it’s original, it’s catchy, and it’s got enough attitudes to fill a stadium. This is just the type of music you’ll have to play on repeat while driving, but beware; you’ll be speeding well over 100mph before you know it. With a strong mixture of tight percussion, throbbing bass, melodic spaghetti western guitar blended with heavy yet rhythmic guitar riffs, and harmonious and spoken vocals, Switchblade UK has a very distinctive sound.
Switchblade formed back in late 2005 as a three piece and wrote recorded and produced their first album 'Dark falls' in 2006. Staff changes saw the band go from a three piece to a four piece when Kate Baben (Bass) and Daff Parry (Guitar) joined following the departure of their former bassist. Due to heavy work commitments Kate was also forced to quit the band after 18 months with Switchblade but was quickly replaced with present bassist Nick 'Niko' Burton. July 09 saw yet another change when Daf Parry was replaced by Rich Turner in the October of 2009. Switchblade is now preparing to take the Switchblade train to Canada and the US.
Switchblade prides itself on writing all its own original material albeit with many influence's to guide us, and are not afraid to experiment and be different but always keeping the heavy Switchblade sound. Switchblade have just completed their first album as a four piece band 'Beautifully executed' which was recorded at Monnow studio's in Monmouth, Wales, UK (Produced by Dan Turner 'Nine inch nails' and 'Cradle of filth' fame and mastered by Ted Jensen 'Nickelback fame).
Switchblade UK stood in as the main support band for rock legends ‘Bon Jovi’ when they came to our home town on the’ lost highways’ tour June 2008 in front of approx.23’000 Jovi fans.
