Its time to make the SWITCH! some old things just become just that.. old! SWITCH is a whole new attitude, a whole new feeling, a whole new way to party and enjoy our frinds' company... Its a party where we can SWITCH from the same old scenery and jump into something a little more refreshing and colorful. SWITCH will be the most recognized weekly/monthly party in all of metro Detroit for those of us who really love the deep grooves and moving sounds of todays latest house music. With an incredible list of talent who will be performing over the 2008 summer, it will be a fun summer to remember. MAKE THE SWITCH! SWITCH-Detroit Edition Eden Nightclub Ferndale MI. OBJECTIVE- Working as a team on the large and small scale of the entire scope. SWITCH originally was created by DJ TRANZIT in Scottsdale AZ about a year ago. The Weekly SWITCH Wednesday parties consisted of a four hour time slot where there would be a 3 to 4 DJ rotation giving exposure of each performer to a larger crowd rather than their own individual following of fans. For example, DJ 1 from one part of the city was very successful to his regular group of followers while at the same time DJ 2 was doing the same but by not crossing paths with the fans of DJ 1. By not crossing paths, the fans of DJ 1 never even got to hear the sounds and see the performance of DJ 2. By pulling several DJ's together at one event, the fans got to experience both allowing for a larger and more energetic party and the performers got more exposure by getting to share their love of the music with a larger group and many new faces. My Idea was to expand this and create an opportunity for this to take place on a much larger scale. We have so much amazing talent in our market that never gets a chance to get exposure outside of a 50 mile radius of their home town because they are simply just unknown in other areas. And it makes sense too though because why would any club owner or promoter spend their money to bring in Joe Shmoe from Idaho just because Joe can rock it out in his market when nobody here has ever even heard the name? In my travels in the past several months, Ive found the same problem in so many other cities and I think SWITCH can create a golden opportunity for these wonderfully talented artists to help take their career to the next level. My goal is to expand the concept of the SWITCH party to several different markets across the US and Canada over the next several months. But its not going to be easy. The easiest part and the greatest help in the matter is however, the people who ARE involved are more so into it for the love of the music, the energy of the crowd, the lights and visuals, and over all, the love of the party. The cities that I have targeted for the near future include Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, Myrtle Beach, Chicago, Denver, Windsor, and Toronto. By creating a weekly SWITCH party in all of these cities along with the original one in Scottsdale created by DJ Tranzit, we can build up a 60-80 DJ/Producer rotation with one or two big names from their own local market performing along side or with a big name from another market who could use the exposure. The trick is making sure you pair the right people up and everyone treats the party like its their very own to always insure a large enough turnout to be able to keep the party strong and able to afford the expenses of the next few parties. What this also allows besides the fact that each person in the lineup will get the opportunity to display their talent and passion with thousands of other party people across the country, but it also keeps the party fresh. It will always be exciting because the crowd will always be introduced to a new face, a new style, a new overall talent rather than seeing the same old boring weekly resident play the same tracks over and over again with no showmanship because it has become boring and less and less animated or exciting to them. The ONLY way this can happen though is with the tremendous amount of loyalty and passion for what we are trying to accomplish and most importantly bodies. We need lots of people on board with this. Its never going to be some huge money maker, but it can become very successful in its own right in more important ways than we can imagine. By helping each other and working as a true team to help grow the parties, we can get our friends a passport to travel all over and become a much more well known performer by literally thousands and thousands of people. Not to mention the great amount of networking we can all do between us promoters. It feels good to see a close friend or someone you see really trying finally succeed and move on to bigger and better things rather than becoming more and more stagnant and less appreciative of what they are doing. In my opinion so many markets and DJ careers became handicapped by different promoters and bar owners who at one point helped their friends get started and got them an appearance in the spotlight but then held them back and never let them grow any further than just that. It sickens me to see so many people who will go out to the club and blow a hundred bucks on drinks but then bitch about paying a 5 or 10 dollar cover to help support the people who allow them to really enjoy the night by creating a great vibe and turning out a great performance so we all can listen and enjoy a night out with our close friends. I want to hopefully put this whole thing together in a way that I think it really should be done. I want the DJ artists and producers to all get paid well in a timely manner for their work. I want the promoters to be well taken care of at the clubs and by those who are putting on the events. I want all the people who are involved to really nurture this whole concept and treat it like it was their very own. In other words I’m looking for a huge amount of loyalty and a union of people who can all work equally as hard on this whole concept and work hard everyday to support the cause so we can grow to a much larger level and help all of our friends and talented people get the recognition that they all very rightfully deserve. A role model of mine named John Parker once told me a very important lesson about greed and selfishness and I try to exercise this lesson in so many areas in my life and so far it has proven to be nothing less than the total truth. John told me that the fastest way to get what you want out of life is to lead the way by first helping people you care about achieve their goals and help them get what they want out of life. Its very humbling and very true. Do it for the passion, the love, the energy, the smiles, the laughs, the beats, do it for the life of the party and to help our friends achieve new highs.
