well obviously writing and I also love to read, more recently gay erotica, but the stories I write and read must have a strong plot and characterisations. I have an avid interest in history, all eras, but I also love science fiction and fantasy.
Music
hmmm broad taste here I think, I love classics and adore pop - from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s as well the up-to-date stuff - giving my age away there I guess. I also enjoy blues and jazz.
Movies
wow, this is difficult, I like lots of stuff. SciFi is pretty high on my agenda, but then so is anything historical, including the Epics that my husband introduced me to far too many years ago than I want to remember.
Television
Long time favs: Star Trek of all incarnations, Babylon 5, Stargate, Doctor Who, Buffy and Angel, Sharpe. More recent: Life on Mars, Heroes, 24, CSI, Criminal Minds.
Also like historical mini-series etc.
Books
Gay romance - pretty much anything published by the Torquere authors! I also tended to pick up any titles linked to my fav TV prog at the time.
I was particularly fond of the Sharpe books of Bernard Cornwell. Also enjoyed the fantasy books of Terry Goodkind, Robin Hobb and Joanne Bertin.
Heroes
A particularly broad question depending on what kind of heroes - like to give that some thought.
About me: .... and what I love to write!
Hmmm... wife and mother living in the Northwest of England with my husband. I work full time as a secretary but my real love is writing and I would like nothing better than to be able to write full time.
My interest lies in gay erotica, stories involving two men who want to be together. I want to tell stories that reveal how romance laces everything in life, and that it applies just as much to gay men as it does to any other couple.
Somewhat later in life, I stumbled upon reading gay romantic erotica and now love writing about it. I have a particular fondness for the historical genre but have always thoroughly enjoyed science fiction and fantasy and plan to indulge in other genres.
I like to explore the characters and what they see in each other, show how the relationship develops. Find out what it is that keeps them together after the first flush of attraction. Discover if what the characters go through pulls them apart or makes them realise they will be stronger together. I try to set my heroes problems to solve, dilemmas to live and grow through, pain to survive and love to deserve.
My husband admits to not understanding my 'interest' but blithely ignores my time at the computer, other than to grumble occasionally when I've not done something he thinks I ought because I got carried away writing. Then I blithely ignore him!
As a winter present for everyone, I'm offering a free novella on my website.
A Happily Ever After of Her Own
Melinda Lightfoot, a preschool teacher with an unusual ability to flit in and out of fairy tales, never thought she would get into trouble...
...until the Fairy Tale Police arrest her while she is in Beauty and the Beast. They offer her a deal: Find Beauty, who left the story when Melinda trespassed into it, or be charged with the ultimate crime -- Fairy Tale Killer. If that's not bad enough the Beast tags along in search of his true love, and Melinda starts falling for the fairy tale prince. She must choose between doing the right thing and having her own happily ever after.
I haven't been by in a while and thought I'd stop in and say hi.
I just got the first 100 copies of A Demon Awaits. The book will be out officially next week. Today I'm signing and sending copies to my pre-readers and getting ready for singings.
