And here I will tell you the story of three udders (Misko, Toudy and Janek), who performed in the brutal grindcore band P.I.T. During the last P.I.T. demo recording we have decided to try to record some improvised grindcore like compositions and so Misko took charge of drums, Toudy decided to keep his microphone and Janek his basguitar (with apropriate effects of course). The recording was ready to start ...
The recording result was aprox. 8 minutes of experimental noisecore with some grind elements. We shared the copies with our friends and they said it was pretty good, even better then the P.I.T demo. And in order to go on with the chaos, SWRAB was born. We published the tape with this record as DEMO 2003 and this tape is also known as a split tape with noise INVADER FROM MARS by Empty Kofolla Bottles. As the track had some real success, one month after the first session we reentered the studio, to record another longer material and another track was ready to go. In this improvisation we invited to basguitar, drumms and voice some unusual instruments like out of tune radio, mobile phone for kids, plastic bottle etc. This record was published by our DIY label Reset Productions, as a tape named OLE O.
And so the P.I.T was definitely burried and we dedicated all our energy to SWRAB, improvisations were replaced by regular songs, atmosphere inside the band was really great and everything was looking pretty good. For a while band had a second basguitarist Laco, but after two month he changed his mind and finished his performing at all. In the beginning of summer 2004 we introduced the new face of SWRAB on a punk festival in our hometown Martin, but after some time the clouds have darkened the sky above us and Misko decided to leave and start to work on his dark blackmetal project. And so only two of us remained and the band signed off ... but the positive reactions on our tapes were giving me many sleepless nights and in the winter of the same year we have asked ´´ by blackmetal charmed´´ Misko to help us at least to make some new records. In the february the band enterd studio again.
On 5th of february 2005 we opened the door of studio Kobka and we recorded our third step, which we named Maglajs, most of the songs were prepared already, but four pieces we recorded again as an improvisation. During the recording already, Misko is very negative regarding his future with the band and immediately after the work was finished he is leaving without hearing out the result, evidently not interested. In spite of this we are very pleased with this work of art and after one month, the demo was published on CDr and tape also. The reactions are very very positive, even if some people were giving us a lectures because of diverting from noiecore to grind with some elements of rock and funk. Just after the demo was launched, we bought drum machine, programmed some rythms and in april already we took a part on a fine action in Liptovsky Mikulas. But the enthusiasm didn´t last for too long. Toudy have lost his interest in composing of new pieces, he didn´t even help with the distribution of demo and refused to make investment into new vocals equipment and so in summer 2005 Janek decided to stop the activities of SWRAB until he will not find some other play mates already equiped and willing to give the band much more.
But.........in february 2006 SWRAB started to play again. Janek on basguitar, Toudy on vocals and drum machine on drums. On the 15th of august we recorded our new demo, on 2nd of september we played our first live show in this year, and SWRAB goes on..
In 2007 we change our sound - we start to use guitar. In february we played very cool gig in Liptovsky Mikulas and on 14th of april we recorded our new songs which are released as a split CDr with Sperm Of Mankind. New bassguitar player Hanslav enjoy our band in may 2007.
