Swurve was formed over a decade ago in Coleraine by founding members and songwriters Neil ‘Cozy McAuley & Tim Torrens. Since 1996 to 2005 Swurve have released eps, singles along with endless touring across UK, Ireland & Europe playing some of the most prestigious venues, festivals around building up a profile and solid fanbase, the band have also supported many major acts.
Swurves big melodic rock sound with hooky choruses will capture your heart, imagination and give you shivers.they have created a buzz and certainly been well received within the music industry over the years especially from 2001 to 2004 with the independent single releases of their songs ’Velvet Seats, ’Taste the Sunset, ’Stay & ’Changes which got extensive support from major Radio Stations like bbc radio 1, bbc NI, xfm, virgin, downtown, today fm, storm to name a few…. Many journalists / representitves in the music industry gave the band good positive reviews some branding them the next big thing. During this period Swurve gained credibility and a reputation as an excellent live act establishing themselves on many stages and endlessly working on perfecting a high energy live show with tight musicianship that was not to be missed!!!
In 2005 the band was going through a difficult time and only managed 2 live appearances at the London festival ‘Guildfest & The Empire Music Hall Belfast with N.irish rockers ‘The Answer. Once the guys had played the shows they thought it was time to take a break and give London along with the music industry a rest, there was some personal problems within the swurve camp and Cozy & Tim used this time off to work on a lot of new material
By June 2006 the band re-located to Belfast and continued working on new material which they recorded with producer Neal Calderwood at his new manor park studios, Swurves new material is still in the melodic rock genre except with a rockier edge and features the new songs Laydown, Inside, Independence, The Right Time, Take the money & Run, Storm, Dangerous & New Beginning to name a few
2007 dawned and Swurve thought it was time to introduce their new material to audiences & industry representatives within the music world. Swurves plans for 2007 are to gig as much as possible creating a new buzz promoting the EP Inside which will hit radio stations end Feb/start of March, a single and album release are also in the pipeline along with a tour
So the future is looking bright for Swurve & certainly the music world is a better place with their melodic rock anthems in it, So as the Swurve songs goes ‘it’s the right time to make things right and all we want is a ‘New Beginning
