Sy Sez is a London DJ who’s journey began playing on many of London’s pirate radio stations. Along with his radio shows he began playing at local house & warehouse parties. On his journey since then, he has graced many of the London’s best club venues including Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Pacha, Bagleys, Neighbourhood, Herbal, The Key, KOKO, Matter, SE1, Plan-B, Egg and more.....aswell as other clubs in UK cities such as Cardiff, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Exeter, Bournemouth, Southampton and Newquay. Since then he has also travelled to Ibiza, Italy, Southern Spain and Ireland to showcase his talent.
Sy Sez has now also rubbed shoulders on lineups and played alongside some of the true greats of his music such as - Louie Vega & Kenny Dope (Masters at Work), India, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez, Kerri Chandler, DJ Spen, Lil Louis, Phil Asher, Osunlade, Aaron Ross & Neil Pierce (Fanatix), Frankie Feleciano, Terry Hunter, Karizma, Bugz in the Attic, Paul "Trouble" Anderson, Jimpster, Yass, DJ Deep, Arnold Jarvis, Bobby + Steve, Copyright + many more....
In 2005 Sy Sez caught the eye of infamous house-music duo ‘The Fanatix’ (Aaron Ross & Neil Pierce) and earned him a place on their monthly residencies at top London venue – Neighbourhood. This notorious residency was a very popular night and created a dedicated following and had been moved to London hotspot - Herbal, where he continued to be their resident. Due to his continued hard work, dedication and talent - Sy was then proudly welcomed into the Fanatix as their official third member and to begin joining them in the studio on their productions.
Soon after his baptism in production with the Fanatix Sy teamed up with fellow London DJ - Gavin Peters and formed the production outfit AphroDisiax - who are now beginning to create interest with their productions and remixes!
In 2007 his DJ skills earned him a place on the Soul-Heaven lineup on its return to the Ministry of Sound featuring Terry Hunter & Terissa Griffin and also a repeat booking at Soul Heaven for Tony Humphries 50th Birthday.....2 great parties later and Sy was asked to join the heavy-weight in-house lineup as a full Soul Heaven resident, where he now travels the world flying the flag for Soul Heaven, playing alongside the superstars of the music!
In 2008 Sy Sez was asked to join new London radio station Colourful Radio, which is the brain-child of the founder of Kiss FM - Gordon Mac - who personally invited Sy onboard to provide his unique sound to the masses. His show has been running solidly every Thursday night 9pm -12pm. Watch out for regular guest interviews from some of the biggest names in the game, aswell as the finest soulful house.
Also along the way, bookings from soulful house legends Bobby & Steve playing at their famous club night GARAGE CITY (a true soulful house institution) and new residencies for Stereo Sushi + Kinky Malinki confirm Sy Sez as one of the UKs brightest young stars.
Remember this cats name, with his unique style of Deep, Soulful, Gospel Afro-Beat and Latin house - he has a serious love for the music he plays, and his passion shines through in any of the sets you will hear him play.
Adviruz is the artist psedonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, its influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.
Adviruz and Section 27 present "Nightly Sounds", an intricately woven and rewarding musical tapestry. Available now for free download.
To celebrate our first 27 releases on Section 27 Netlabel, we proudly present to you "Sectioned", a compilation of 27 tracks, amounting to 2 hours across two discs of twisted electronic beats, discordant melodies, haunting passages, broken ambience, bending senses of time and space, microscopic glitches, pounding bass frequencies, sounds between sounds, the human voice and the audible sensation of music dissolving in acid. This is the sound of your mind's eye. This is the sound of the Sectioned... Strap yourself in and enjoy the experience.
Also features a 75 minute bonus disc "Sectioned : Nonimxs", including 9 remixes of selected Section 27 artists by Nonima and 2 original tracks created by Silent Snow and Nina Kardec using existing Nonima tracks.
Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcast day, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.
