Many may view me as a sea of calm, unassuming, seemingly uninterested in what’s about me. A guise shun of optimism. I tend to render the world through images, abstract, symbolic veering to a darker reality, my humour likewise. Words strung to prove a point rarely escape. Not that I don’t have any but rather lack the need to exert verbally. Frustrating, maybe. Creativity allows that vent to be exorcised. Cycles of inspiration prove mixed results. I often find pathos through others offerings, rarely my own. More of an observer, the narrative pushes past like the window from a high speed train. Blurs of the familiar woven in faces, abandoned rooms, fractured pavements and ruptured neon. Figments bound to a city - Perdition. I feel the strands of life’s efforts will eventually culminate to that pinnacle of personal sense, a stream unstoppable until spent to vapour. A mortal’s work ephemeral until released in context. How do the pieces fit or come together? And ultimately is it worth the wait? Maybe the journey is the point. I hope so.
