About me:

SYD & MALLORY'S BOUTIQUE, UNIT 10, THE FORUM, 127- 129 DEVONSHIRE STREET, SHEFFIELD

Photobucket Syd and Mallory’s opened April 2006 using the lowest budget shop fitting you could imagine. You ever been to No Frills DIY near the Leadmill? Well that sums it up really. The idea really is that we want to make clothes that you can’t get everywhere, one off originals but without the designer price tag. I’ve always been interested in the origins of clothing and loved the idea of being able to see the construction and process of the products being made. I don’t see myself as a tailor and don’t confess to being the greatest seamstress. My style is raw and yeah it’s a bit messy, unfinished almost. I genuinely can’t sew in a straight line, but I think that this sums up the whole ethos of Syd and Mallory’s. It’s far from polished and there is no perfection. We don’t have a cleaner or an accountant.

There’s no set plan of what we’re gonna make, its not like ‘let’s make ten skirts today.’ Syd and Mallory’s is about individuality, not mass produced style that you can get in ten colours, sizes, small, extra small, extra extra small, petite, tall, extra tall. This obviously has its down falls-it’s a bit of a joke that if you go in Syd and Mallory’s and ask what size things are we generally reply ‘medium.’ We’re not saying you have to be average to buy our stuff as we do offer free adjustments to all our garments. For us it would be unrealistic, impossible to make every size and colour as we usually just find some vintage fabric which can only make one dress or screen print on t-shirts a set amount of times. It’s about knowing that when you’re out you’re not going to see a million other people with the same printed t-shirt as you.

"HOT, Syd and Mallory's The best place to find homemade clothes and the latest Phlegm comic" says NME.com

Syd and Mallory is an independant clothes shop in Sheffield producing a variety of clothes and accesories for men and women. Our clothes are hand mand and hand printed in sheffield. .. ..

*cough* oh yea of course I've been practicing....I'm practically fluent now! Errr...i just get easily distracted ya know...so it might look like i've forgotten everything, but it's just because my mind is elsewhere, honest! *cough* lol. I still remember how to sign 'my name', that's a handy start lol, not sure about the rest. As for work Im still workin at the same ole, same ole, but im also making some extra money taking these surveys things online; you should give em a try; i mean, hey, the extra money comes in handy, right? i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is:

    www.blingforwork.com

, shame I wouldn't have minded staying there till something more appropriate came along, but I don't have that option now heh.
