Many people are relatively new to what we call SIDESHOWS. Sideshows originated in Oakland, CA in the 1980's. Now Sideshow-like activity is seen across the world! Our mission at SYDEWAYZ has always been to take the Sideshow's into an organized environment - sanctioned and insured. If for nothing else, for our own safety & recreation and to take it out residential neighborhoods.



With the release of the SYDEWAYZ project in 1999, the world got the very first taste of sideshows outside of Oakland, CA. Not only was the SYDEWAYZ project historical in documentary content, but also in its achievements in INDEPENDENT MEDIA PRODUCTION for which many would follow!



"People think this is about cars... This isn't about a f**kin car! This is about what I saw in 1994 when I saw my first sideshow. It was something that brought thousands of people together - having fun, in the middle of the night in one of the most dangerous cities in America! If it takes nice cars and donuts for my people to get along and have fun - by all means, I'll be the first one burning rubber!" Y. Zazaboi - SYDEWAYZ producer.



Sideshows are NOT about jumping on top of cars, or ghost riding the whip. Sideshows are not about crates on the back of scrapers, they are not about fighting or pill poppin', running lights, going dumb, stupid, retarded, 18 or whatever you wanna call it. It isn't about donuts either...



The SIDEshow is about FLOSSING aka SIDIN' - thats why its called the SIDESHOW. Its about pretty women, classy cars and just generally showing off with style and class! If it ain't about that, IT'S NOT A SIDESHOW!



As of today, SYDEWAYZ has acquired the location, community & city support, and an insurance carrier to cover such an event. We have a fairgrounds style layout and enough staff, security and volunteers to make this a reality.

This event is 10 years overdue.

    Man I hope the mayor of Oakland can do that to make it safe for the young brothers, & sisters to have fun and show off there cars without death like what happened to my nephew (Juan) 5/3/08. 
    Let me know if I can help in any way I'm not mad at the sideshows if its non-killing. 

    My relatives want to show off there whips but NOT if its killings INVOLVED.
