Raised in Aberdeen, Washington, Sydney was exposed to the diversity of musical styles that the Pacific Northwest has to offer--from jazz to grunge--at an early age. Knowing music was her path in life, Sydney began composing music at age eight. Her passionate pursuit of expression in the entertainment industry includes opening for Warner Bros. recording artist Tyler Hilton, Universal recording artist Maren Ord, and numerous unsigned artists; working in the entertainment department at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL; performing in sixteen musical theatre productions; co-hosting the regional hit television series “Not on the First Date”; organizing a benefit concert that raised over $1,700 for her former high school choir; a guest co-host spot for the Parker Radio Show on 101.9 “The End” in Salt Lake City; and pursuing a degree in Media Music, with emphasis in contemporary vocal at Brigham Young University. Sydney has received recognition for her vocal talents, winning various awards including the Utah Idol 2007 Contest, a competition sponsored by Utah Fox 13 Television and Outstanding Soloist honors at the Lynwood Jazz Festival. Sydney currently performs her original music in the local Utah and Washington venues.
