Peer pressure, hunger.
If you're feeling down in the dumps, your best bet is to hear a few pearls of comedic wisdom, straight from the horse's mouth - the horse in this case being our good friend, Peter Cook.

After many years of being told to just grow up and get some bloody responsibility, our parents have finally flown the nest leaving us with the time and the freedom to bring you SYKES.
The scene: 2000 A.D. The year: the school playground. 10 year-olds Matthew Jebediah and Sam Lea have just figured out they can scam people out of their money by selling tapes. Their first concept album, "BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!", has proved to be a huge hit with the ladies in the playground. Still, after a 5 to 6 year creative hiatus, the two happy chappies have found they've grown a lot taller, have a bit of a facial hair thing going on, smell differently, and have amassed three more friends between them, all of which have been forced into their latest musical mess, SYKES.
Formed in December 2006, Sykes began to play some of the most ambitious gigs they
could find: school assemblies, old people's homes, methodist churches - no venue is too rock 'n' roll
for them. Over the Summer of 2007, bigger gigs came along, as the band headlined Manchester
Academy 3,the Roadhouse and played the Y-Not Festival, adding experienced gigger, "Big Willy" Soutter to the outfit, to at least make it look like they knew what they were doing.
Now, as each band member travels the Earth (Beijing, France, Lancashire etc.) in the unlikely event that they'll find something else to do, summer 2008 looks set for big things. 6-packs of Carlsberg aside, the new "From The Carriage Window" EP sees the start of something new. Only one question remains: how far will Sykes be able to go? London? Los Angeles? Huddersfield?
Stay tuned and LEARN THE FACTS!
Big-ups and Chupa Chups to GAZ REMBLANCE! for recording this for us! We got about half-way throug the interview before realizing we'd not told anyone to record it, but props to this man for being keen enough to do it anyway! (Check him out, he's in our top 16. And he has a manly beard.)
