SYLAS.org is a non-profit group that wants to get people active in their communities to support their local animal shelters. One of our local shelters is Pals Animal shelter ( www.palscc.org ). Other local shelters include the Gulf Coast Humane Society, The Cattery, and Pee Wee's Animal Shelter. There are many shelters around the country that are over burdened with too many animals. These are good, healthy animals that need loving and caring homes. So before you go to that pet store, we ask that you take a look at the local animal shelters in your area or even your city animal department. We are confident that you will be able to find the most wonderful pets to add to your family. Being a pet parent is a big responsibility, so be sure you can handle the pets before you adopt. They require full time attention. They get sick like human kids can and they need love, care and attention like human kids do. So please be sure you are ready to handle the responsibilities of being a pet parent.
