Sylken (Eric H), with various musical artist friends.
Influences
The great pioneers of musical ambience and those artists and friends of modern times: Robert Carty, Phil Ogison, Anomalous Disturbances, Alpha Wave Movement, dreamSTATE, Jon Serrie, David Helpling, Jon Jenkins, Diatonis and others that continue to inspire my musical creativity.
But most importantly this wondrous Creation in which we all experience our existence, the vast cosmic expanse we will all come to know ...
~ Sylken is a collaborative based ambient music persona that continues to evolve as a vehicle to perform and share musical moments, sound spaces and creative experiences among friends and fellow artists. Sylken was launched with the release of the ‘Illusions Of Light’ debut CD. My experience with synthesizers and sound discovery began in the mid 1980’s when the instruments we used were non-programmable and demanded a lot of manipulation and tweaking to evoke the cool sounds of those days. Creating musical electronic soundforms has been a long-time hobby for me and it’s only in recent times that I have taken this to the next phase of ‘serious’ recording. Though I’ve been archiving e-music for many years, it was during 2002 that I began to consider creating and evolving a music project and vision. As founder, core artist and producer of Sylken I have always been drawn to the sharing of musical expresstion and have had the privilege of working with various fine musicians and friends over the recent years. Creating and performing with fellow artists has always been my preferred experience, as the sum of the parts has always produced those unique and wonderful musical vistas that spring from mind and Spirit ~

Of Time and Space, such a beautiful track Eric, puts me right into that 'interzone' almost reminding me of the space between the last life and the next. Great stuff. Phil

Eric, thanks for your comments on Boerealis and This Quiet Dust. Very much appreciated! It's been too long since I visited your space--although I have a couple of your older tracks in regular rotation on my iPod (Mother Sun and Omega). Endless Vista is beautiful--tranquil and powerful at the same time. (I like those changes at about the 4 ½ minute mark.) Great, rich sounds. I'm on to listen to the rest. -Mark
