due to insomnia, I am re-reading all my comments. as to your comment from 8-23... I'm glad your meeting like minded mutants...what would the world be without em.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you...welcome to bastardness!...It usually takes 10 years to become a full fledged bastard! So by the time your 30, a full fledged bastard you shall be!
If you want more, try Sister Machine Gun, Leather Strip, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, Grendel, Hocico, Chemlab, Die Form (god i fucking love Die Form, who doesn't love industrial with a vocalist who's classically trained in opera?!), Cruxshadows, Wumpscut and many others.
These are just some of my favorites though. And I'm much more in love with Goth-Rock than I am with Industrial, so even I can't reccomend to you the really deep-down underground stuff. Try asking Drew too! He actually helped me get into Industrial when i was but a wee-youngin'. Listen to some of the tunes on our little myspace players too, if you like any of it i'm sure we can tell you gobs and gobs of useless facts about any of it. :)
Hmmm... Five good industrial Cds eh? Well... For starters I would reccomend anything by 'Skinny Puppy' they're one of the big names in the scene for sure, my two favorite albums by them are called "too dark park" (older) and "the process" (newer). They have a number of very awesome side projects if you decide you like them such as: Doubting Thomas, The Tear Garden, Download, OhGr, Ritalin, and Cevin Key, among others.
Ok... number 2: The Very Best of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult... they will introduce you to the wonderful world of lounge/swing *aka silly-ass* industrial music, its good fun. If you like it, try bands like KMFDM, Pig and Pigface, they all have the same fun/funky electronic sound of goodness!
Numero Three: Anything by the band Psychic TV, they practically started the whole dang scene with a side project called Throbbing Gristle. Genesis P. Orridge is their front man/woman (s/he's a bit of both these days) and my personal hero, i suggest to you the albums 'Pagan Day' or 'Force thee Hand of Chance'... both very very good.
Hmmm... moving right along to number 4... try 'PRICK' for a more mainstream guitar influenced, Nine Inch Nails type sound, their lead singer Kevin McMahon was buddies with Trent Reznor back in the day and you'll probably notice that heavily in their self-titled album. While it's not industrial so much as it is electro-inspired rock, its still a personal favorite.
And for number 5... ummm. Damn there's so much good stuff out there!! Well, a shameless plug for another of my favorites, try "Pop Will Eat Itself" also known as "PWEI" or "Poppies", they're hilarious and seriously old school industrial.
If you want more, try Sister Machine Gun, Leather Strip, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, Grendel, Hocico, Chemlab, Die Form (god i fucking love Die Form, who doesn't love industrial with a vocalist who&#
