The mind behind SYLVIA RAY ARDEN is none other than singer & songwriter S. Arden. She is considered to be one of the few real soul sisters to emerge out of Europe, grown up in a creative artistic environment.
Her general approach to music is very spiritual: Music is a part of God. When I write or compose a song sometimes I wonder where it came from . It is transcendental, magic kept me alive, brought me through any situation, no matter how rough it was. Any song I wrote is based upon personal experience, helped me to deal with any situation , with life's ups and downs. "Music is to deal with Life's joys and pains in a spiritual, sensual, constructive and hopeful way"
Sylvia became passionate about soul, pop and jazz music at a very early age, thanks to the musical surroundings of her father, a musician from the flourishing Warsaw jazz scene of the late 80's and 90's . Her love for music was also fueled by the fact that her father would often take her to concerts and sessions, where she hung out in a familiar mood with polish jazz stars Michael Urbaniak,Stanko and Ursula Dudziak. It was very natural for her to spend a lot of time in artistic environments, where she was able to develop her own creative skills.
After studying jazz vocals, jazz dance , funky street dance and popular music in Arnheim/ Netherlands and Cologne / Germany , Sylvia not only supported the UK/European tour of Terence Trent D'arby but also became the guest singer for a german tour of Guru's Jazzmatazz. After discovering keyboards, software and drum machines, she completed some first demo recordings by herself. Sylvia's aim is to resurrect the spirits of 60s and 70s Soul , Pop and R &B music with modern production skills and a strong hint towards commercial and club music styles. Then one of her own songs raised first interests from audiences and major industries as well. The tune made it on a Universal Music Compilations and got frequent airplay on Radio Jazz and Radio Pin until today.
She collaborated with d-town productions( island records, def jam, sony, universal), n.o.h.a band(international act based in germany) , and many local and international bands providing her skills in singing, songwriting and performing. Ranging between raw and sensual tones, musical results are startling: Wrapping Sylvia's unique voice in soul,breakbeat and hip hop frameworks finally allows her to a deeper approach of melody and seems to liberate her voice . With the first single and album release, Sylvia Ray Arden will become one of the major talking points in contemporary pop,r&b, nu jazz and soul music, with a remarkable sound that deserves to see her revered far beyond the United Kingdom,Poland and Germany!
