Symmetry and Ryan Lewis album OUT NOW! Use link to the left to buy hard copy or click link at the top of this page to buy on itunes!
"Symmetry and Ryan Lewis have crafted a modern classic. Accomplishing a seemingly unattainable feat, the duo has managed to posit a sound that at once both defies and embraces the standard conventions of modern music. Far from a tired regurgitation of the “same old sound”, the Self-Titled EP forges new ground while remaining firmly rooted in an era we all wish we could return to. The duo has somehow managed to evoke just about every decade of popular music, coating each audible memory into a hyper-real representation of an era that never existed, a pastiche of allusions to the roaring 30s, the rock of the 60s and 70s, and the alternative revolution of the early 90s, all accomplished while remaining firmly rooted in the sonics of modern hip hop. Put simply, this may be the only record you’ll ever hear that will both rattle your sub woofers and make you crave a mint julep.
Coming from opposite ends of the United States, the two-man group combines the rap/vocal styles of Symmetry (Providence, RI) with the wide-ranging production of Ryan Lewis (Seattle, WA). Blending elements of pop, hip-hop, electro, indie, soul, and rap, the duo appeals largely to audiences of Gnarls Barkley, The Roots, Maroon 5, and MGMT. Since there beginning in 2006 they have collaborated with a variety of artists including Nikola Bedingfield, Paul Rivers Bailey, and Geologic (Blue Scholars). This EP is a strong taste of the material they plan to release to launch by summer the summer of 2009.
'Ever since I heard that Ryan Lewis and Symmetry were working on a project, I’ve been dying to hear it. They are two of the most innovative, forward thinking, and talented artists I’ve worked with, both in Seattle and nationally, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on. These are the kind of artists that make working in music fun.' - DJ Hyphen (KUBE 93)"

homey I love the new music/sound, very creative. reminiscent of a male American Lily Allen and I mean that truly as a compliment because I really dug her first album and I can see the musical cross-pollination parallels (mark ronson is one of the best out there and I really like some of her lyrics).
