About me:
Symphonies of Steel is a weekly heavy metal radio show which specialises in traditional/power/speed/thrash/prog and glam/pop metal.
Symphonies of Steel is broadcast every Friday night, from 9pm to midnight, on Brisbane's 99.7FM. The radio station is located at Redcliffe, in Brisbane's northern suburbs.
The aims of the show are to:
1.showcase real heavy metal bands (which are overlooked by the media - even the metal media)
2. support Australian heavy metal artists, and
3. have fun!
Symphonies of Steel commenced in April 2007, after I approached 99.7FM a few months earlier with my proposal to broadcast a heavy metal radio show. The vision was to focus on the styles of heavy metal that don't receive the media attention they deserve. After a couple of months of training, I was given the green light to proceed with the show.
This site will contain the Symphonies of Steel radio show playlists, as well as how I got to this stage in my heavy metal journey. Keep an eye out for the updated blogs.
