The songs posted here are songs where I took part in the songwriting process; more specifically the composition and the transitions. Basically putting the pieces of the puzzle together. I didn't come up with the lead solo, guitar rhythm, nor the lyrics. I also produced and recorded each song posted, using basic knowledge of Cubase. I am still a rookie when it comes to the mixing board & Cubase, so I know the song quality is not 100% ... but come on, it's not bad for a first timer ;)

Influences
Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), many European neo classical power progressive metal bands such as Nightwish, Children Of Bodom, Therion, Within Tempatation and Sonata Arctica. I think you will hear most of those influences on this project. However, I don’t like to limit my influences to just metal because I can play in many other genres. There are a few American bands such as Tool, Dave Matthews, Alice In Chains and Candlebox. Along with these bands, I am also influenced by jazz, funk, classic & early alternitive rock, instrumental new age & latin ...thats when I start bringing out my percussion side.
I have gotten many different view points of my musical idea to fuse progressive elements of drumming with classical themes. Whatever it maybe, I still consider this my personal musical expression.
I started this project 10 years ago, I think in 1997. I have complied about 15 pieces; most of them being well known classics from Bach, Beethoven, and Vivaldi; as well as a few old balls in there for the classical music freaks. It was when I started to listen to bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation and other neo-classical European bands when I got this idea. I started to get a better appreciation for classical music.
When I started I used an Alises DM5 module and a Roland V-Drum snare and PD-9 triggers for cymbals. At that time I didn't have tom triggers. Each piece I did took some time to compose. To me the drum arrangements had to make sense with the classic piece. I wanted it to blend, I didn't want my drums to over power the classical music, but at the same time I wanted to give it an edge .. a melodic edge. I have shown fellow musicians my music and they find it to be quite different, but can easily groove to. In fact, my friend Navin who went back to Trinidad has spread my music all over his country.
All the music that I have posted was recorded real time. I didn't have a studio, so I just recorded the 2 channel mix (drums & music) into a burner and hoped for the best. So if you hear some screw ups and the level are off, that's the reason why.
I have been in a few bands, but the one that contuines to be very important to me is Meridian Sky. Let's just say when you find right people, it shows in the music that is created. In Meridian Sky, music was written and composed by all members of the band. It was never one person. It was were I started to be more then a drummer, a songwriter. Five songwriters + five great friends = not just a band, it's Meridian Sky. Yes fans, we are back !!!
Attention other musicians: I would like to have other guitar, bass and keyboard players collaborate on some of these recording with me. Maybe some vocalists and local classical performers as well.
Anybody interest, please contact me via myspace. Below (my space friends) are some of artists & "true musicians" that I have worked with through the years. They are also the most supportive people I know.
I am also a writer. I have been writing song lyrics (which turned into poems later on) since I was in high school. You will find some pictures in my profile, that represent titles of my written work BUT I am not the artist of the pictures. I thought of them as interesting representations of the titles of my written work, since I can’t draw/paint. That's the only creative side of me that is missing. Occasionally, I'll post some of my written works as blogs.
