Synaptic Distortion is made up of one person, Darren Maunu, who in 1995 began producing sample based music on low end computers through the use of software called trackers. A few years later Darren along with a friend Paul started to play around with higher end software and hardware but due to lack of time and other commitments very little was produced. With faster processors coming out Darren started to experiment with the use of softsynths and discovered high quality music could be created strictly from software without the use of expensive and space consuming hardware.
Synaptic Distortion has been experimenting with various forms of electronic music but Trance, House and Breaks have been the focus. The goal of this project is to create high quality music with a sound that is a little different from the rest by taking elements from various genres and incorporating them into a unique sound. It is all about a good beat and creating emotion which allows you to feel the music.
