Influences
The influences vary from member to member, giving all their songs a different feel. Whilst Jamie and Ayden are heavily influenced by the pop punk melodies of blink-182, Motion City Soundtrack, and Jimmy Eat World, Scott is more influenced by the heavier Metallica, System of a Down and many other suprisingly different bands that give an interesting mix to Scotts drumming style. Zakk has a varied taste in music, CKY being his main influence whilst Muse, Avenged Sevenfold and Dream Theatre give the band elements of progressive rock and modern metal. Mix up these few extremes of rock with some ear splitting riffs, pounding drum beats, catchy lyrics and backbone bass lines and what do you get....Synat =D ||
Other Influences include;
Iron Maiden ||
Polysics ||
Coheed and Cambria ||
Alkaline Trio ||
Funeral For A Friend ||
Fall Out Boy ||
Rancid ||
The Darkness ||
Red Hot Chili Peppers ||
Sum 41 ||
Box Car Racer ||
Van Halen ||
The Cure ||
Black Sabbath ||
We'll have plenty more to come thanx for viewing anyway =D
Sounds Like
Sounds Like....pink noise....but better. See now we have rhythm...well a pattern at least...=P
Synat was formed by Ayden and Fee in summer 2004 with the intent of winning the schools internal music festival, with Ayden singing and Fee playing lead guitar. Shortly after forming with no name Jamie joined the ranks as a rhythm guitarist. After several rehearsals in Fees garage playing guitars through a singular thirty watt amp and vocals through a 15 watt guitar amp Paul joined to play bass.
In December that same year the band got a single slot at a school talent show on a trip to the Briars. Amazing the audience with their own interpretation of This Could Be Love, the band went by the name Million Shades Of Grey. Christmas meant an opportunity to start with more equipment and a new rehearsal place. Jamies very cold, wintery shed. Soon after New Year though, Million Shades of Grey became a three piece as Paul left to concentrate on another band.
Determined to better them selves they changed their name to Synat, which brought with it several tired and one untried bassists. Throughout the Summer of 2005 Synat began to write their own songs and recruited Bassist Dolan. With this great addition to the band Synat moved to a hall where they could move about more. Whilst at the hall Dolan recruited his drumming friend, Scott, giving Synat its current numbers and, then, full line up. After discovering that two of the members felt uneasy in the supposed haunted hall Synat moved back into sheds, garages and wherever else will have us. In mid 2006 after a long time of enjoying playing with Synat (a feeling that was mutual) Dolan felt his time in the band was up, deciding to leave persuing more hardcore music. Dolan remains close friends with the band and may yet gig with them in his current band.
September of 2006 bought about the oppertunity for Fee, Ayden and Jamie to meet new individuals to try out for the band. On meeting Zak, the band decided to have him round for a rehersal. Quickly picking up the songs, the band decided to make Zak a regular fixture until they could see how he played with Scott as well. Since getting a rehersal room in the Robin Hood and Little John pub, the band has been able to reherse regularly as a full outfit and has since welcomed aboard Zak to the ever rolling Synat Mobile!
The band is currently still at the pub Monday nights and enjoying increasing their repatior of songs, adding there own songs as well as cover songs!
Synat is a blend of pop punk influences from blink-182, Motion City Soundtrack and New Found Glory, to Metal and Hardcore influences like Metallica, Dream Theatre and System of Down. Also the bands love for bands that use unconventional instruments in rock has been known to influence other songs Synat have written. With more in-your-endoes and crushing riffs, pounding drums beats, catchy lyrics and backbone basslines, Synat look forward to their big break...
