Synthetic Sounds is a Vancouver based record label dedicated to the exposure of quality and daring artists spanning all genres and sub-cultures. Formed in 2008 by Mark Sommer, the company has set a standard for themselves by seeking out and supporting bands that are true to their craft and are willing to take the next step and go the extra mile. The first year saw Synthetic Sounds’ first signing, Vancouver cyberpunk outfit Left Spine Down, releasing the SmartBomb EP and first full length effort Fighting for Voltage which the band toured heavily.

2009 demanded expansion and subsequently a deal with Canadian independent distribution giant Sonic Unyon was penned.  Regina, SK’s cyber-rockers The Rabid Whole soon found a home with Synthetic and Atraumaton was released. Edmonton, AB’s hot shot DJ Scott Fox sent in a demo of his new project iVardensphere and was immediately signed. Venturing close to home and refusing to neglect the metal and hardcore scenes, tech-hardcore quintet Last Plague was signed.

Courtships with other artists are in the works at present, but Synthetic is hard at work for their current roster whom they share not only professional relationships with, but strong personal ones as well. Not allowing themselves to be intimidated or discouraged by a rapidly changing industry, Synthetic Sounds pledges to never falter in their goal of bringing brave new sounds to the masses.
