In this exact moment how many new bands are popping up around the world? Probably thousands. And in this broad musical universe it is always hard to see something new standing out among other bands. Something else is needed; and that something else that is going to tip the scale is related to something simple, but hard to find: talent.
And that is what Luiz Syren Vox , Alex Macedo Guitar ( Atlantida ), Carlos Losch Guitar ( Heartbreak Boulevar ), Bruno Coe - Bass ( Imago Mortis ) and B. Azambuja Drums ( Vulgar ) have in abundance and it can be heard in their songs.
Although all members are involved with other bands, Syren is not a side project but a real band. It evolved from Luiz Syrens project with Atlantida's guitarist Alex Macedo, who is also a producer and has done work on the highly praised cd A Brand New Life from the band Krystal Tears.
Since he is not and egocentric man, Luiz wanted to change the bands name, but to his surprise the band rejected the idea and so, Syren was born.
We always expect an excellent work coming from a vocalist that played with Thoten on the main stage of the Gods Of Metal festival in Italy alongside such bands as Whitesnake, Queensryche, Pain of Salvation, Motörhead, Grave Digger and Angra; elected as one of the best Brazilian vocalists by Edu Falaschi from Angra and one of the biggest promises of Brazilian heavy metal in recent years by reviewer ACM (Rock Brigade).
As soon as you hear the demo Syren produced by Alex Macedo (guitar), it will become apparent the quality and potential the band has. The song Stay Alive alternates between soaring melodic and almost guttural vocals displaying sheer intensity. The End is a great song reminiscent of Bruce Dickinsons finest solo works such as Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny of Souls with heavy riffs that scream Traditional Metal. Winter Days is another great song with solos and melody lines in the Iron Maiden vein.
These are just the first three songs. Imagine(and anxiously wait) to hear what the cd, that will be produced by Alex Macedo and recorded in Full Sound studios, will sound like. And you know what the title will be? Heavy Metal! They nailed it perfectly.
