Syren came into being after Nick and Spadge, then known as Digital Blasphemy, met the charming Ms Carly Wilson at the inaugral Samlesbury Music Festival in September 2004. Digital Blasphemy played acoustic versions of popular Pink Floyd and Eurythmics tracks, as well as an instrumental of their own creation. Whilst Carly sang songs by likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Eva Cassidy. Spadge and Nick swooped in to persuade Carly to team up with them, and Hey Presto!!!!, Syren were formed. After learning a few covers, Syren made their live debut at Samlesbury again, in March 2005, and then spent the year attending open mic nights mostly in the Lytham area of Southport. Syren took 2006 to concentrate on writing their own material, and to play a few gigs along the way. In 2007 Syren went into the studio and recorded a four trck demo disc entitled the Paradasm EP the results of which can be heard on this page. Also played a number of gigs around the north-west and also had the honour of being guests twice of Julie And Daisy at Preston FM, our first foray into live on air performance. Now into 2008, Syren are back into the studio to record the full album (we mean it this time) material that would have not been available at the start of last year, is now confirmed to being on the album, so hopefully it will be a stronger album for the patience. Plans are also afoot for a short UK run around, purely for fun and to play in some new places.
