Sounds Like
Can meets Jade Warrior and Tangerine Dream in a bar for a few beers while listening to Harold Budd, Ozric Tentacles and William Orbit. Then they head off to an after-hours club to drink single malt whisky while avant-jazzers jam with Hawkwind refugees.
Systems Theory is an internet project, performing a progressive electronic/world music hybrid, welding high-tech modern electronica, dark ambience and acoustic ethnic styles with spacerock aggression, free jazz exploration, and symphonic prog bombast. In addition, the individual projects of the members explore these and even stranger avenues and musical styles. The project has two official releases: "Soundtracks For Imaginary Movies" (2004) and "Codetalkers" (2007). There are also two older "demos" sets floating around the internet that were good enough to have been released as proper albums. In hindsight that's what should have happened. Expect them to be revisited and made available with extra tracks in 2009. The third official album, "overfulnoisecascade", will be released at the end of 2008. Greg Amov and Mike Dickson also each have three solo albums.
