Not much going on, just sort of in a pissy mood.  I'm sorry to vent, but here's venting:

I know it sounds strange, but in your future -- my present -- China is the dominant country on Earth.  This wouldn't be so irritating if they didn't go out of their way to continually tell the rest of the planet how great they are.

Can you imagine another country so cocky and arrogant to continually say things like, "Thank Buddha I live in China, the greatest country in the world"? 

And what's more is that every time someone says this at the Chinese Emmys or the Chinese Olympics, the whole crowd cheers.  "Yeah! We've only lived in one country so we have no possible frame of reference for comparison, plus we are ignoring the obviously crappy and embarrassing times in our nation's history... but who cares! Go, China!"  I figure they must be brainwashed or something.  Or they're afraid to show any kind of dissent for fear of being labeled "not Chinese enough."  They're a real "Liberty through power" kind of place these days. 

What really gets me is tha they act so uppity and shocked when other countries dare mock them or even criticize them.  Sure, when terrorists attacked the Great Wall we were "All Chinese" for a time, but that good will has been shot as the Chinese army has marched all over Canada and Russia in an obvious pursuit of ice.  It's that transparent! 

I'm just glad I live in the United States, the former greatest country in the world.
