Art Tatum and Frank Zappa being thrown down a flight of stairs, after being kicked out of a bar that only exists in the mind.
THIS IS A TRIBUTE/FAN PAGE! meant only to expose and shed light on this rare fusion masterpiece.
After Making This Album. The 18 Year Old Pianist Disappeared Without Trace Leaving The Listener With A Great Yearning For What Might Have Been.
The enigmatic Hermann Szobel's only album was made marginally less obscure when Mike Magnuson mentioned it in his 2002 autobiographical novel, -Lummox, as a precious treasure around which his beer-swilling, jazz-obsessed protagonists congregate.
VIDEOS
Tribute video for Hermann's track "szuite" is above, at just over 12 minutes, its one of his most interesting tracks and is all over the musical spectrum. so turn up your speakers and enjoy.
Video above for 'MR.SOFTEE' made by me over an evening with a six pack. Thus concludes, the only 'known' recorded work of this great artist.
UPDATE check out Bob Goldman's page for an unreleased Hermann cut!

Thank you very much for accepting me too among your friends. This page was recommended by a fellow poster on the USENET alt.music.mike-keneally newsgroup. Looking forward to exploring this gem.
When I checked in, "New York City 6 AM" was the song that loaded. I can only imagine the pure ballage it takes to commit to that kind of sound even with what someone must surely know is high technical and musical ability. Thank you very much for turning me on to such a rare treasure.
Hello Hermanns' friend..Greetings from Wales..Nice to meet you..Thanks for adding me to this obviously great musician's page...Good luck in all you do..Aston
I just wanted to say that at 10:30 of the unreleased recording that it isn't a synth sound but rather a real men's choir that Hermann used to record those staccato phrases. I thought that was interesting when my dad told me about that. Definitely a Hermann thing to do though.
I just wanted to announce that for those of you who liked the 1st Szobel album, there was additional recorded material that was not put on a subsequent album but it can be heard on my page as a single long track. The sound quality had to be slightly reduced to be hosted but not terribly so. Come check it out, it's a little bit heavier sounding than the original Szobel sound.
