The Audacious Art Experiment was started by Ben Lane in the summer of 2002, he built it up from nothing into a succesful label with some really amazing releases. Not long after Ben put out the first cd he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Sadly, aged 21, he passed away on November 20th 2004 after fighting the illness for over two years. The Rise: Reclamation Process 12" was the last release he had chance to work on and the entire record goes out to his family and all who loved him. Fortunately for us his love of music, courage and unconquerable spirit allowed him to go on and bring us some wicked records.
The Experiment is now in the safe hands of Luke and Bestie from Stand. Bestie is pretty much the brains of the operation, he sorts out releases and stops Luke from wasting all the labels money on postage for shit trades. Luke sorts out distribution (badly) and is thankful for Bestie trying to stop him wasting money on postage for shit trades. Bestie is currently working as a web developer where he helps people develop their web. Luke has just moved to Sheffield and is having a blast. Check out the following address for more info.
The Experiment - like most labels - has certain values and rules that were adhere to. We demand that the music and bands that we put out is challenging. This could either be musically, lyrical content, the releases artwork or even the bands personalities. If you're not challenging anything you're not living, you will never progress or achieve anything of worth. Aside from all this we do have one other major rule which is paramount and that is NO DICKHEADS!
At this point in time The Audacious Art Experiment has had enough of the state of the current scene and is planning a huge assault on the fashionable and contrived forms of Punk/Hardcore that are staining the scene at the moment. We have some awesome releases in the pipeline so make sure you stick with us.
Check out one of our other Audacious projects if you've got a minute. Listbook is a new website that lets you compile a virtual bookshelf of everything you've read and share it with your friends. It even gives you cheeky little recommendations based on what other users with similar tastes have read. It's really quite clever.

It's gonna be mint, we've got 2 new songs (hopefully 3) and they're ace (in our opinion, of course!) We're super excited because we haven't played in so long and want everyone to hear our new shit.
So, you should come down and get on your dancing shoes. It'd be proper amazing to see a lot of you down there and prove us wrong about people not showing up!
Come on, we can't get banned from another venue for lack of people!
