"We are an Indigenous-established volunteer-run collective dedicated to creatively confronting and overcoming social and environmental injustices in Flagstaff and surrounding areas. We are restoring and redefining knowledge and information in ways that will be meaningful to our communities. We offer access to independent media, the arts, and alternative education, with the goal of self-development as well as empowerment for youth and the greater community into action in favor of a more just and sustainable world."
hey klee - chip thomas here. we met a while back at macy's. i told you of meeting someone in brazil back in 2004 who played on the same bill at festival in the desert as blackfire.
i've another friend who may be contacting you. she's a writer based in san francisco who's been following the pee in the peaks case closely. her name is marilyn snell. she most recently was an editor at sierra. several years ago she did a story on sammy james and the hopi environmental activist (whose name i don't remember - preston someone?), opposing mining in the peaks.
meanwhile, if you're out and about tonight, stop by the flagstaff photo center. dj rey love + i are sharing the bill on a joint show. all the best...
