Sounds Like
Rock and Roll Done Right! Creative electronic manipulation is also a favorite. There's also the Progressive Metal (Big Music, whatever you want to call it) as well. Everything on THI is unique in that its all really good shit. If Tablebeast likes it, that means its not crap! Consider it all experimental in its own way, but other than that this material is hard to simply categorize.
Tablebeast Heavy Industries (THI) is a record label like no other. All of the albums on THI are produced by Jesse Mesa-Savage along with the bands themselves. Jesse does not charge money up front to work as a producer for his label, nor does one need to go into debt distributing through THI. Rather, he and the record label each own a percentage of the master recording and are paid out of sales, not speculation. This puts the incentive to see every project through to a proper release. Even better, the artists retain ownership of their songs, publishing, performance, AND independence. Its a very good deal for the artists. Don't be surprised if more arrangements like this pop up in the ever changing musical landscape.
Jesse is notorious for his strong opinions on music and media in general. He began recording simply to put his money where his mouth was: to stop complaining about the sorry state of modern music and instead seek out worthy bands and create along with them some true sonic art. To make honest records that take advantage of modern technology as a tool but never as a crutch is difficult in this day and age, but Tablebeast does it time and time again. Each album is its own reality, its own supernatural realm to get lost in...
There was no more left, you boiled it all away Now where to start, the first guest is lost Your reason to stay is gone, no other matters You seem to shiver and jumping in Where there was no more left to beckon And we caught thinking about tomorrow Realized that today is now lost You lay out in the bottom to await return But the air is dry until the evening When you finally set fire to the sky
A glance burned through the licorice ropes We bound you with, empty calories couldn’t hold you over Tapped and wilt us with the green of your eyes Slick from the saturation you’ll find yourself Trying to grasp the true separation Of pleasure and pain, eternal through now You’ll let yourself feel the occasional attack And stretch like taffy in preparation of the water That sprays with bubbles when you slip inside
(Seraphina: verse 3 and refrain) (From the Amara EP)
Crabwalked naked across the ceiling To put the fear of your grip in us And spun one handed from a hanging light To precede a somersault landing on the springs Better to show off your balance and your grace You had given us you smiling warning But your jumps had left us reeling And now we have no one else to blame
With both hands you pushed aside any hesitation The second you took hold we knew The one way street we were taking Wiry, lean, assured, and standing Your stomach was warm granite, resisting This would be ending badly, we gave in
(Valantina: verse 3 and refrain) (From the Amara EP)
How can I ask for more? I steady the eyedropper Let it dribble onto my tongue And I leave my room I step outside On my way to who knows where I know I’ll end up somewhere alright
