About me:

TABS President
Juan Del Rosario

Photobucket

"I am a musician who loves music dearly. I love The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park. I write my own Guitar Tablature on the side so if any of you out there want to learn songs on the guitar the easy way, you know who to contact I'm happy to be onboard TABS and feel privileged to ride the wave onto a better future for Blind people."

TABS 1st Vice-President
Melissa $LaDyBuGG$ Reyna

Photobucket

Uh-Oh; looks like I'm moving up in the ranks! Well...I am the oldest but coolest TABS board member you will EVER want to get to know. I am a Phi Theta Kappa as well as a Tech Geek who knows how to "break things down"-if you know what I mean...LOL. My 16 year-old daughter Samone and I have a tight bond. People say we look and act a lot like sisters. I like making people laugh but I love people who can make me laugh. I have two dogs at home; one of them being my guide dog. I say what's on my mind and I don't like sugar-coating anything. Honesty is my only policy in life...

TABS 2nd Vice-President
Emily Beckstien

Photobucket

My name is Emily Beckstein, and I am currently the 2nd Vice-President of the Texas Association of Blind Students. I have completed my associate of liberal arts at Tarrant County College (or at least I will have probably finished by the time this gets posted. I love to read mysteries and science fiction. I also like to listen to radio dramas. Last but most certainly not least I love being involved with TABS; the greatest student organization ever.

TABS Secretary
Gabriela "GiGi" Garibay

Photobucket

Hey what is up. My Name is Gabriela A.K.A Gigi as TABS secretary. This is my 2nd year as secretary and since my first year it has been great being on the board. What can I say I am from EL Paso, TX. I am attending EPCC finishing up my basics. I plan to major in sports med or somewhere in law. Besides school I am fun, outgoing, loud at times, I like to party and make the best out of everyday life. I am willing to try new things. As for me I love being around people who are outgoing and can make me smile. One thing that you must know; I don’t like people that lie. Tell the truth and we’ll be cool. There are a lot of things I enjoy doing such as playing basketball, football, and most of all my all time favorite is swimming. Other than sports, I like to hang out with my friends and make them happy.

TABS Treasurer
Ashley Alexander

Photobucket

Hey what's up it's Ashley, your new tabs treasurer! i'm really excited to be on board! Well, let's see, what all can I say here? Well, 22 years living on this earth, and you'd think I didn't know so much! Hahaha! Anyway, I'm going back to school this semester, and I'm really excited about the change! I'm a freshman, majoring in music education/performance. I'm a really big fan of music; i spend all day listening to it! I'm into all types of it, and I also enjoy singing. I enjoy playing on the computer, and lately my knowledge of the latest technology has grown tremendously! I spend a lot of time studying the computer, and learning more than what I "need to know!" i like to serf the internet, and chat online. A couple of the things I'm working on now is learning to use a program which will allow me to create recordings of different types, and also trying to learn to type Spanish characters on the keyboard. Although the second thing isn't going too well right at the moment, but I'm still trying! "Never give up", I've always heard! Well anyway, hope you all enjoyed reading, I'm out of here for now. Thanks for reading! Ash

TABS Board Member 1
Juan Carlos Munoz

Photobucket

What up to everybody. My name is Munoz, Juan Carlos, or at least that's what you would know me as if I were an author. I am first board member on TABS, so basically I'm here to serve you. I'm a guy that enjoys sports, music, and comedy. So get at me if you wanna talk some baseball, talk about the guy that was just on comedy Central, or show a rocker some love. I started teaching myself to play the drums when I was 13, and I guess we were meant to be together or something. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know all of you. LATER!

2 bills to censor/kill the internet have been introduced and We the People NEED to contact the Senate committee members to kill these bills dead. The government wants to censor our 1st amendment rights of freedom of speech and freedom of the Press. Write your state senator(s) NOT to pass S.773 Cybersecurity Act of 2009 and NOT to pass S.778 To establish, within the Executive Office of the President, the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor
You can view the bills here:
    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-s773/show
    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:S.778:
These bills will mandate the government control of the internet and establishes a separate department in the government to ensure totally control/censuring of our free access to the alternative press/media and our free speech.
Don’t let Big Brother take our tax money AND our internet!!

You may have heard that we'll be raffling off a guitar and a talking IPOD, but that's only the beginning. There will be other exciting door prizes you can take home without buying a ticket. And there's a little something I'm purposefully holding back until next week. You'll find out what it is when you arrive, and trust me, you'll love it. That's all I'll say for now. Just thought I'd remind you to keep track of the calendar and get you anxious. See you in Austin.
