    I listen to what I wanna listen to.
    I grew up learning the violin and trumpet, listening to classical bollywood, pop, RnB and bhangra. I discovered pop-punk when I was about 16. I like classical classics-Beethoven, Vivaldi, Tchikovsky. I might not know about all genres much, but I can appreciate a good piece of music.

i'm muslim. and kinda punk. but i gave up trying to fit into a box ages ago, its too uncomfortable.
my "faith" is a personal thing for me. get over it.

I use a lot more words than are needed. I get stressed easily. I work part-time at a CSR consultancy. And am supposed to be studying Economics part-time too. But that isn't working very well so will probably fail THAT.
I make and upload short, shaky and downright pointless videos of gigs and protests I somehow end up being at.. If staring a a mainly black screen with the occassional flash of light but AMAZING live ska/punk music is your thing, I suggest you check out my youtube page: www.youtube.com/tabzywabzy =]

    They look pretty tight. I purchased a new pair today, at the super low price of fiteen pounds instead of seventy. They are a proper fancy brand and everything.

    Sorry, i wasn't implying you were into a specific 'scene'!
    I was just commenting on those bands in the Taqwa-core 'scene', they seem like a proper confused bunch...I was just thinking out loud on how i'd probably still feel like an outsider! lol *shrug*

    Meh, Music is music....everything else is just an accessory. :)

    Yeah, read the book you're referring to, I think the whole Taqwa-core thing is something I do not want to be associated with...I mean I could relate to the books Protagonist,the character being the outsider looking in, but the whole 'muslim-punk' ideals it comes with is such an oxymoron in my opinion.
    But it's funny I've always wondered what i'd be like if I were bought up somewhere like Saudi...I pictured myself in a burqa adorned with band patches!...and then i came across the book, read it and was disappointed.

    I don't associate myself with any 'scene', I've always just been myself disregarding the trends and stereotypes of society. ...I guess the fact that I grew up being the only asian in my school/area may have had an influence...but I deffo don't regret it, to be honest I'd hate to live in a large asian community! lol

    Haha, Yeah I have a pretty eclectic taste in music too...I've just been listening to alot of hardcore lately!

    ...Well, i gotta say so far your the only other female muslim in freaking britain I know of who listens to heavier music on here! Another I know of is from Australia!!...We're a pretty rare breed it seems!! lol

    Londons only 40 mins away from here directly....but i guess essex is further away than central LDN im guessing.

    I'm gonna listen to a few more of their songs once I'm done commenting, and then I can give you a verdict on King Blues :P.

    Just wait for your time, you'll find someone. Better to wait for someone good who'll appreciate you for who you are rather then be hasty and find someone who doesn't care as much.
