Tacos a Go-Go's Blurbs |
About me:
OPEN 7:00am WEEKDAYS for our famous breakfast tacos! Only $1.59 each!
3704 MAIN STREET @ ALABAMA in midtown Houston (just look for Carmen Miranda's head above the front door!).
Voted "BEST TACO" Reader's Choice AND Editor's Pick, Houston Press, Best of Houston 2006!
"BEST GUACAMOLE" Reader's Choice, Houston Press, Best of Houston 2007!
"TACOS YOU MUST EAT BEFORE YOU DIE" Texas Monthly, 2006!
"BEST BREAKFAST TACO," Houston Press, Best of Houston 2007!
Our BREAKFAST TACOS, BARBACOA (lamb), VERDE (vegetarian), and GUACAMOLE have ALL won awards -- and we're waiting for the press to discover our carne guisada, pollo guisada, picadillo, and chicken and beef fajitas! (we're a patient bunch here).
We've also got a selection of dessert tacos you cannot find ANYWHERE else! Nowhere. Like the chocolate taco, which is a half bar of dark chocolate, with a little cinnamon, a little powdered sugar, grilled like a quesadilla, and topped with a bit of powdered sugar. Mmmmmmmm. We've added others, too: peanut butter and chocolate, s'more (with chocolate, graham cracker, and marshmallows), apple cinnamon raisin, strawberry and cream, blackberry and cream, and for the holidays, a pumpkin pie taco, which is to die for.
It's an arty, funky place to eat in midtown Houston, located right between the Continental Club, Sigs Lagoon, and Shoeshine Charlie's Big Top (The Big Top).
We're located right off the Metro Rail at the Ensemble/HCC stop, minutes away from Downtown, Montrose, UH, HCC-Central, TSU and the Medical Center. You can park on the streets nearby or in the Tacos a Go-Go/Continental Club parking lot (off Winbern).
There's plenty of seating, including comfy booths, and you gotta try our homemade salsas at the salsa bar. We cater parties at the restaurant or nearby night clubs if there's a lot of people. Or we can come to your place, if you prefer. Believe me, you'll be addicted once you try!!!!
Hours:
Monday thru Thursday - 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday - 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.
